the clash of two Titans in the World of Football, Argentina vs Holland.

With Argentina's flag painted on my face and couple of Argentinian fans by my side, I travelled to Frankfurt to watch the match on the big screen by the river Main. To my shocker, I felt I was actually in HOLLAND; there were reports that close to 40,000 Holland fans had made it to Frankfurt to watch the match! And these guys made their presence felt, with their orange flags and dressing! Nevertheless, we were early for the party and to our luck, we were right in front of the screen, in the midst of Argentinian fans!! My Argentinian friends taught me couple of songs, of which I managed to retain some of the words : 'Vamous Vamous Argentina... Vamous Vamous..... Kilomera.. Notereha Notereha Notereha'.

 

I found myself turning in to a crazy Football fan too amidst these guys; with an Argentinian flag on my shoulders, which I occassionally started waving and jumping with, along with the  many more who were there singing and cheering the team on. The game was captivating, with Argentina making several attacks, but not managing to convert any. Holland was equally up to the task, and at the end of 90 minutes, it was a 0-0 draw match. But that never let down the spirits. On my way back, I found myself dancing with the Dutch and Argentenian fans. ' Shaaa laaa lalala.. sha la lal laaa': that was the Dutch song!!! So, here I was, getting actually converted into a crazy Football Fan, which I have never been before.

 

I reached home at 2 am, tiered with all the jumping and dancing but, the songs continued to play in my head:

' Vamous Vamous Argentina.....'....'Ooooh Argentina... Es is sentimento...laaalaaa'
