Since some years, German govt is offering a one year post study visa to search for a job. This visa is interpreted as a 1 year visa to stay after successfully finishing the studies.
Often, Auslaenderbehoerdes calculates the duration from the day of graduation. Even if the study visa is valid for another 1 year , presuming one had just extended the visa before graduation, its the same at the end of the day. All these years students are genrally staying one or two years after the studies as they just extended it before the final month.

However this 1 year visa, the so called job search visa will allow to work for 90 days asusual and pay a normal health insurance tariff which is almost double the student tariff. The living costs get going up, students who cannot find jobs left the country or look for more green pasteurs in other lands.
