Did you leave Germany for good and its already 24 months?
Have you worked in Germany?
Are you from a country where social pension system is not compatible with German pension system?
Do you want to claim the money you contributed to German Pension System?
If you answered all the above questions as “YES” , then keep reading this ..
Citizens of countries whose pension system is not compatible with German system can claim their contribution of pension fund (Arbeitnehmeranteil and NOT Arbeitgeberanteil) after 24 months of leaving Germany.
At this website you can check if you can apply for a pension refund or not.
The contribution by the employee (claimant) will ONLY be paid and the contribution by employer will NOT be paid and its gone forever.
The amount paid by employee and employer are same. If one had worked for 5 yrs and has contributed 30000 euros and the employer too contributed 30000 euros , one will loose the 30000 paid by the employer if claimed.
If the claim is not made , at age 67 the pension is paid monthly.
It all depends what you wanna do.Instant half money or get pension from what you paid at age 67 from German government and there are lot of critics that at that age average people working for 1 pensioner would be 1.9.
One has to just download a form (V900) from the Deutsche Rentenversicherung Bund and fill it and send it to their offices in Germany and in a few weeks if not months the money would be transferred to Inland (authorized person within Germany, requires a Vollmacht) or to your own bank account in your country.
The form is called V901 at the time of writing this article and can be downloaded here
Fill the form and send the necessary documentation (passport copy, attestation by notary in the form for any authorization[Vollmacht],pension account statements etc) to Berlin and the process shall be complete in a month or two and money will be transferred.
Some key words below if you wanna search in Google:

If you are from one of the following countries or living there , the refund is not possible according to BFA.
Its not a complicated process, after all you lived here for some years and can apply on your own too..Just be patient for few months for the application to get processed.
At this website you can check if you can apply for a pension refund or not.
In the past we have helped few Indian people who moved back to India to get the pension refund and all we needed was their passport copies, V901 form, Vollmacht for handling the application, a bank account in Germany or abroad.
